You wouldn’t know from first talking to Nathaniel Renouf that he is an American citizen with a Channel Islands background. He is based in Guildford and sounds pretty local. He certainly sounds English.
Just like it takes time to get to know him he takes time to get to know his clients.

Nathaniel calls himself a photographer and graphic designer but that doesn’t really describe him either. If you spend more than a couple of minutes looking at his work you will see that he produces photographic images that have the quality you only normally see in stills from a feature movie. They are not just static images, a freeze frame snapshot. Somehow they have an arresting quality to them.

In these days where everyone has access to camera phones, digital photographic editing equipment and Facebook, Nathaniel is continually working to develop and improve his knowledge of composition and lighting in order to produce work that is unique in concept and mood.

His portraits for a wide range of commercial and private clients are compelling. Faces appear animated, full of life, although the image may not be of an action scene. Nathaniel seems to capture something of the presence of the person, the nature and character, not just the face. It is clear that people feel comfortable with him so they allow him close enough to glimpse those moments that really define who they are as individuals.
